24.        What are Bible Teachings on the Gospel.

Wow, this is a large subject.  Besides the four Gospels of Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John which
summarize the whole “good news”  {Gospel is literally the good news about Jesus} of the life, teachings,
miracles, character, death, and resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ, once you have read through those
and become familiar with them {I would recommend starting with Mark as it is the shortest and a gospel of
action, and then also read my commentary on Mark with comments called
CUP OF WATER}, then you can
take on the more thorough and scholarly Pauline books of Hebrews and Romans, the first primarily a
summary of the Gospel for Jews and the second for Gentiles.  Of course Paul in a condensed version
summarizes the Gospel in I Corinthians 15:1-8.

“Moreover, brethren, I declare to you the gospel which I preached to you….For I delivered to you
first of all that which I also received {interesting that God passed it on to Christ and Christ
passed it on to Paul in Saudi Arabia}  that:”

{summary of the Gospel as taught to Paul by Christ and recorded for posterity in the Bible}

“ (1) that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures {foretold in the OT and written after
fulfillment on earth in the NT by Apostles, call it the atonement, redemption,  or just the cross the
statement is complete}, (2) and that He was buried, (3) and that He rose again the third day
according to the Scriptures {yes, the OT also predicted the resurrection and you can read in
Acts 2 how the Apostle Peter preached on this and in the process quoted from OT Scriptures}”

{if you can find enough faith in the Scriptures as the Word of God, and by the way in the power of God, to
believe the resurrection then the rest of the Gospel on the death on the cross for the sins of the world is
also a matter of simply faith in God and the Scriptures, Old and New Testaments}

“and He was seen by Cephas {yes, Simon Peter saw Jesus dead and then alive and you can find
his testimony in First and Second Peter as well as the Gospel writers recorded that testimony,
especially John Mark, and of course Dr. Luke in Acts recorded the sermons of Peter on the
subject in the first chapters}, then by the twelve.  After that He was seen by over five hundred
brethren at once…”  (I Corinthians 15:1-8)

And this is where we get “the faith once for all delivered to the saints”:  among those saints included in
Jude’s epistles as he wrote of their common understanding of faith on the Gospel and all other doctrines,
were those 500 witnesses to the resurrection and also the ascension.

25.        The Bible on God’s War.

Somebody has been listening to CNN on “God’s Warriors” which is good in that it is thought provoking,
has a lot of historical insight on the current world situation between Muslim countries and the alliance of
Israel and the US that will finally lead, no doubt with the alliance of other countries with the Muslims and the
man of sin and Satan; but it the major themes, even in the title where God’s name is taken in vain as a god
of war and even blasphemed as Christ taught from God the proper way to treat enemies in Matthew 5:21-
26 about murder, Matthew 5:35-42 on the second mile, and Matthew 5:43-48 on love of and reaction to
enemies.  The most important group of warriors that CNN left out is “Satan’s Warriors”, by far the majority
of the warriors in the world today, and which overlaps with many of eh so-called Jewish, Muslim, and
fundamentalists warriors of the programs.  For a complete discussion of this subject, please go to the
recent blogs in SunGrist Blogs on the SunGrist Blog page of this website.

I would like to add to that Blog discussion that God does not need to war:  He can simply speak the word
when He desires to pass judgment on a group of people as He did in the destruction of Sodom and
Gomorrah—where by the way only two angels were required and God and Christ have legions of angels at
their command—or as He did in the destruction of the whole world during the Flood because of the
wickedness that He saw on the earth.  By the way when God brings final judgment on this present Age, He
will shake both heaven and earth, the whole universe; and that will be done with the same power and
instantaneous process as when He created heaven and earth in the first place.  And when Christ comes
again to destroy the army which comes against Jerusalem and the camp of the saints, it will be with
legions of angels.  Then could be called a war; but really it is only a battle for the legions of angels at the
command of Christ—imagine just the power of one angle taking flaming vengeance—will quickly annihilate
Satan, the man of sin {number one choice now is Bin Laden or a relative or follower}, and the vast army of
terrorists countries with possibly countries like China, North Korea, and who knows.  You know, in the book
of Revelation it is called the Battle of Armageddon.  We use to misunderstand this Battle of Armageddon;
but now with Israel and Jerusalem already surrounded by enemies that seek its destruction in Lebanon, the
Gaza strip, the West Bank, possibly Syria and Jordan, possibly even Saudi Arabia, and also Iran and Iraqi,
history and the Bible are coming into focus with each other.

The Bible on Conformity to Christ.

This is easy; and perhaps that is what you desired to hear re-iterated as the Word of God through the
Apostle Paul in Romans 12:2.

“And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that
you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.”  (Romans 12:2)

Of course, we know it is easier read than done as the pressure to world conformity is daily incessant and
the subtlety of the prince of this world, Satan, to destroy and mislead us along with his flesh and blood
servants that are children of this world is almost overwhelming.  Of course we are encouraged to know that
“He that is in us {the He is the Lord Jesus Christ, the us being believers} is greater than he {Satan and his
demons}that is in the world”.

We are also encouraged in the battles, not against flesh and blood but against principalities and powers
and spiritual wickedness in high places, that God “also predestined us to be conformed to the image of
His Son”; and before that He foreknew us, and after that He predestined us to be called to the Christian
vocation, then He justified us by faith and lastly at the second coming He will glorify us to be like Jesus.
(Romans 8:18-39)

Once we have come along the path of predestination and conformity and justification, to yearly be
sanctified by the Spirit of God which is in us requires that we properly renew our mind like mentioned in
Romans 12:12.  Something we must do as we “work out our own salvation with fear and trembling.”  Here
is where many stumble as they fall victim to the final falling away of church members like most of Israel did
in the wilderness, and the reason Paul warns in Hebrews 3:12, “Brethren, beware lest there be in any of
you an evil heart of unbelief in departing from the living God.”  The departure from the living God comes by
way of such false gods or idols as “the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life.”  The
departure is described as stumbling or lack of  root in the parable of the seed and the sower where the
seed planted among thorns are on stony ground is immediately received with such joy as to convince
church members and leaders that instantaneous new birth has taken place {really the new birth of the Bible
and Jesus as taught in John 3 is a 9 month new birth}, yet it is not real justification as when “cares of this
world, the deceitfulness or riches {alias the Gospel of Prosperity}, and other things” come along, there is
stumbling—sometimes for 40 years to fall away like the children of Israel in the wilderness; or there is no
root developed.

SOFT, Superficial, and Sentimental

Unfortunately today with the obvious progress of churches into the Falling Away {the Falling Away is not
from churches, generally church attendance will go up in the churches of  popularity}, Christianity has
become SOFT, SUPERFICIAL, and SENTIMENTAL.  You can see this quickly in the songs that we sing!
As the prime goals of SunGrist_Bible and therefore of the website www.biblecombibleman.com are to (1)
extend the influence of Christ, (2) proper Bible understanding, (3) Rescue sound doctrine from the ravishes
of II Timothy 4:3 and 4, and (4) Present FRIENDS OF JESUS as a challenge sufficient for the Falling
Away; then you will find on this website such commentaries as (1)
BIBLE AND COMPUTER, (2) the five volumes of the LEARN CHIRST commentaries at the heart of which
is the statement in Ephesians by Paul that “this is not the way you learned Christ; if indeed you heard Him
and were taught by Him”, (3)
reconciliation is made between the parable of the seed and the sower where church members stumble
and fall and fail to develop root as the cares of this world choke out the good seed, with the Security of the
Believer which many hid behind as they fail to work out their salvation with fear and trembling, (4)
PAUL, AND THE FALLING AWAY which is a commentary on the book of Hebrews as a book on the
Falling Away—how it happened to Israel and how it is happening to church members today, and (5) the
WHAT CHURCHES DON’T WANT YOU TO HEAR, which centers around the fact that the churches
do not want you to know that they are leaders in the Falling Away.  They have to be as they are the only
ones that have something to fall away from, and as they are the only ones that have seen the works of God
for over 40 years.
